YOU DON’T BECOME COMMITTED AFTER YOU SEE RESULT; YOU GET RESULT ONLY AFTER YOU BECOME COMMITTED
An example was almost made out of me, my poor response, wishes without taking proper course of action and responsibilities toward this piece of work, I lost commitment out of the factors yet I was wishing to have the prize attached to it. The topic then poses questions at me: were you going to put efforts to win the prize after the winners had been announced? Would your mere wishes get you the prize or your appropriate actions? Then I realized I was going to make nothing with mere desires.
Many remained at a point because of reluctance and refusal to put in effort into a desired goal they looked forward at. Wishes has been left unfulfilled, many dreams remains dreams, visions to no actualization and purpose to failure.
The concept of this creative work explains two personalities: A person who wished and visualized the end result, wanting it but does not put in for it, because he is aware of complications, challenges, distresses and had thoughts like ‘he may not win the prize even at the end’ and many other thoughts or reasons with negative impacts. And the second person who strives, presses forward throughout times (difficult times, days and nights) invests emotions, intellectual abilities and scales through obstacles and yet sustain readiness and positive thought coupled with strategies to defeat firewalls and earn the diamond set at the end of challenges.
I will love to implore words and theories of some respectable and achieved men into this writing, David Seabury in his great work – Your Four Great Emotion, said “Nothing gets done unless it is prompted and set in motion by I-want in the subconscious area of the mind”; Mohamdas Karamchad Gadhi of India also said “You may never know what result comes from your action. But if you do nothing, there will be no result”; Martin Luther King Jr. who said “if a man is called a street-sweeper, he should sweep streets even as Michelango painted, or Bedhoren composed music or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep street so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, Here lived a great street-sweeper who did his job well” , I will conclude their contribution with words of Ralp waldo Emerson that “without ambition one starts nothing, without work one finishes nothing. The prize will not be sent to you. You have to win it”. They all pointed that result comes only out of responsible actions through commitment.
Therefore, the course of actions lay out of emotional and intellectual bounds earn you your targets. Result or outcome is too late to get you committed; you only get committed to have a result. HIT THE BULL’S EYE WITH PERSISTENCY!
I have always been interested in Photography since we given the opportunity to be a part of an entrepreneurship skill acquisition in secondary school. There were various skills like carpentry, tie and dye, but only Photography caught my attention. I learnt immensely from a Professor who came to tutor the class. I graduated with the best award in Photography.
After secondary school, I started shooting different images with a mobile phone.I was very passionate and consistent about Photography. I had role models in person of Tolani Alli and Yagazie Emezi, who helped shape my knowledge about Photography. I watched several videos and read several books about Photography. I sold clothes and other items so I can save up to get a camera.
In 2019, I attended a power pension programme inside University of Ilorin. Students with businesses were called upon to talk about their business and areas where they need help. I went out and talked about my need of a camera. A man from the programme promised to help and I got my camera few weeks later.
Now, I have been able to carve a niche for myself with Photography, documenting stories and capturing moments. With this young aspirants would learn to build on their passion and get started. You don’t become committed after you see results, result comes after you become committed. – Taiwo Aina, 2021.
